Origin Story
There was a point in time when a certain cable news network ran a story about unrest in a northern state
within the United States. The story was about a person being killed by police and the riots that broke out.
Rioters were burning and looting their own community when a family member appeared on the network pleading
that people stop destroying the community. That is the part the network shared with its viewers.
What they failed to broadcast was the next sentence, where a family member announced that they should go
to affluent neighborhoods and burn those down instead. Misinformation and disinformation made their face
known — partial truths, propaganda, narratives, and lies. The truth is often found betwixt and between
these things, and that is why The Daily Marble exists. We want to give as much of all of it as we can,
so you can decide for yourself.
